Forums.. Helpful or Harmful?

In this profession you have the freedom to spend a lot of time on Community Forums across the internet. I do because it gives me an opportunity to provide information to large groups of people, mainly new Traders, about Ichimoku Kinko Hyo, an allusive indicator that not many know about.

What is really weird about Forums, which I believe is a matter of my own opinion and based solely on actual experience is this… Most Traders on forums are “Spamaphobiacs” <— I made that up.. Or very un-focused. Let me explain this..

I am a FX Market Analyst, who uses Ichimoku Kinko Hyo. I am a Swing Trader who specializes in trends and early detection of false breakouts, I generally look for bigger moves on the 1D, and 1W charts. My clients include Banks and Private Investors. I train small groups and conduct workshops and online seminars.

Beacsue of this.. All of the above… When I post on the Forums I am reduced to a “Spammer”…. This is a thinking that I can not seem to understand. I am freely giving information that Professionals pay upward from 250.00USD/ hr for, never saying “Let me Train You!!” and I am still looked at as a Spammer…

This can probably be reflective of many Traders who never reach potential due to a lack of understanding of the market as a whole. I can remember when I first began, some years ago.. It was in a public Forum that I found my mentor.. who gave me tremendous insight, resources, and guidance, that has now led me to a very lucrative career and saved my ass from Corporate America.  The Market as a whole is made up of Analyst, Analyst/Traders, Forecasters, Trainers, Developers, Writers, and about 50 – 100 other identities that make up the “market”. Each ident. contributing his/ her part for the betterment of the Trading community.

So I ask.. Are Forums Helpful or Harmful. I would have to say “helpful” at the end of the day. Forums are designed for individuals to share information freely in a an open marketplace, extending possibilities for growth and development. And asside from all of the “B.S.” <— that is not Bachelors of Science either.. That happens on the boards, the weight of the “Possibilities” is much greater.
